I was given a 3 tier grow out brooder cage. I was wondering since Coturnix quail are small and you can butcher them in about 6 weeks. Would it be ok to just keep them in the grow out cage til butcher time? Thank you.
I've kept mine in a 4'x2' rabbit cage all of their existence, save for the first week and a half because of their tiny feet. I'd say that as long as they don't fall through or get out between the bars, they're fine. You will be butchering them before they get into crazy murder mode, so you could keep as many as is practical in there at the same time and not really worry about it.
And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy oooh oooh oooh the sky is the limit!
