12 week old Silkie...Male or female

Hello,

 

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if this little darling is male or female?

Sorry he/she got a bit wet in the downpour this morning...I was trying to dry him/her off!

Can I ask how you can tell...I have no idea...I brought this silkie and 2 white ones (you can see one in the background) for $30...they are 12 weeks old and I thought they were all female...but I have no idea...and a rooster wouldn't bother me to be honest.

3 things:  1. the color; in partridge it is very easy to tell males from females by color.  All that orange and red on the back and neck indicates male.  2. the comb; the shape of the comb is wide from side to side (male trait).  3. the crest; the feathers in the crest are uneven in length and form much less of a pompom.

 

The white one behind this one looks like a female.

No streamers...and not much for hackles, I am thinking girl.
