So I've gotten some 2yo hens that were raised in a barn and I have two questions?

How do I teach them to walk up the ladder to their roosts rather than sleep on the floor of the coop I built?

Given that my 3x5.5 foot coop is a little smaller, what signs for "bears confinement" troubles should I look for? They are red sex links I believe.
