Any Ideas on what kind of coturnix Quail this is?

I would think of it to be a Jumbo Brown Coturnix Quail Chick. Good luck!

They are already laying so full grown.

Mother to a 4yr old, 3 dogs, cat, Blue Black Buff Lavender and Paint Silkies, Pair of Easter Eggers, and Rabbits. God is Great!

looks like a manchurian gold male, kinda hard to tell tho, can't see the breast color

Someone told me its a Pharaoh I thought they where dark colored?

keeping the names for the species and the colors organized can be confusing.

 

some people call them "all" coturnix, japanese quail or even pharaoh. others can tell you color down to the allele

 

it is a japanese quail, it is a golden colored bird. I think mibotsu nailed it with manchurian, which is a sub-color of goldens.

 

this is one of those wiggle, waggle things. all wiggles are waggles but not all waggles are wiggles.
