starts with swollen eyes?

Okay folks, I need a little help here. I have some birds Young, that start with swelling of the eyes, then they tend to scratch at the eyes and lose the feathers around the eye. Then the eyes swell completely shut and within a day or so, they die. Anyone have any ideas

You might want to have them tested.  Send a dead chick in for necropsy.  Your local extension office can put you in touch with an agency that can help you out.  I think you might have one of the CRDs at work.
