my latest idea... 18''x18' square box lined with foam,
inside I have a crock pot, like below (but with out lid, and not in that foam cooler but the upper one) I have placed the crock pot in the upper box with a glass tray under crock pot no lid and wire mesh over pot touching edges of whole inside box. I put in a plastic ring on wire mesh to hold eggs in center directly above crock pot.(holds about 18 eggs)I have a controler on it (it must be the kind that has degrees, not just hi-low.)I turn it on enough for the light to go on.
(not this cooler, or its contents, or lid.)
(test and make sure temp holds 102, 24 hrs.)I will put in a cup of water with penny from before 1982.I have not tested this idea,and my rooster may be too young to fertilize, but the temp is holding and I have hatched with the box and a bulb in the past.will check back may have to get diff eggs.
So far I am liking this idea, the crock pot turns it's self off-on to regulate heat, light bulbs can either get too hot-cold.
