Will anyone be selling brooding boxes in Augusta, March 31st?  If so, how much?  Thanks!

depending on the size of your hens, you can get free cat litter buckets for bantam breeds  at your local recycling center or TSC sells them that will fit large fowl.

We are building our first chicken coop in the corner of our barn (with outside access) and would like to use the traditional wooden nesting boxes, in singles or duplexes or sets to house 6 to 8 laying hens, to start.  We have found that we can buy them on-line, but would rather purchase from Mainers!  Does anyone sell these locally?

Most TSC's have them for around $10 a piece. I have both the wooden ones and the bucket ones, and I prefer the buckets.  They stay cleaner.

We make them in 2x4 size, but don't have any new ones for sale at the moment. When did you need/want them by? Although, they're pretty easy to make if you have a saw and screwdriver if you wanted to try yourself.

Nevermind, I apologize, I read further and realized you wanted nesting boxes not brooding boxes.

Sorry!

Those are also easy to make if you have a saw and a hammer!

I will not be attending the swap (have to work until 3) but if you are interested in some colored (some regular EE some olive egger) layers or some brown layers, I've got a bunch of almost 6 week old females ready to be sold. PM me if you're interested.
