It's the shape that makes the breed, and the color that makes the variety.

Are you a member of BYH? Lots of goat keepers over there. BYH is a sistersite of BYC!

I'll be picking up a Nigerian Dwarf bred doe and a Boer wether companion shortly, if she doesn't show a heat cycle and is truly bred. And soon, I'll be getting two Nigerian Dwarf doelings, on reserve with another breeder. They haven't hit the ground, yet.

The Doe's registered name is Apple Tree Acres Twix, or Twix for short. She's such as sweet girl love.gif

In these pictures I took, Twix was MUCH more interested in hay than posing for the camera.

Anybody have an idea of what breed goats we might have?  The lighter colored one is a male.  Black and white is a female.  We got them at only a few days old.  I was at a weekly farm/cattle sale.  The male was in the ring all by himself.  Cold and shaking.  Waiting for the sale to start.  We know the owner of the sale barn so he let us hold the little guy.  So then of course we had to by him.  We bought the black and white one out of a big group so he would have buddy.

I have no clue about goats and have a lot to research.  They sure are fun though.  The for sure think I am mom.  And think they are more like dogs then goats. lol  They stayed in the house the first week and a half we had them.  But we have no setup a good spot outside for them and they spend most of their time out there.

Hmmm, I'll get Chloe the goat expert, if she doesn't appear...
