Just saw some eggs on ebay that are described as Blue Tolbundt Polish Chicken eggs. Are these genuine or just a sales gimmmick? Ruth

i think it is unlikely, but that would certainly be a beautiful color!

I saw those same eggs last night.  I know nothing about polish, only that my daughter wants some really bad.

You should just go ahead and get them!  Polish is Polish

It will still be neat to get them regardless but I really, really doubt they're true Tolbunts especially blue.

To get that you'll first need a blue laced gold, which far as I know don't exist yet, they'll take quite some generations considering how complicated lacing is alone, and that all blue-based Polish are, well, basic solid colored birds. So first you need blue introduced, THEN you need to introduce the Tolbunt (basically mottling into laced) and finally have your product.

So, it's possible, but takes quite a while of good breeding and knowing how to do it. I think what the seller has is what most people think Tolbunt is - a mix of white, brown, and possibly black.

Well they're going to go for big $$$.

Illia, there are blue Polish right?  I'm just wondering if breeding that to a Tolbunt would come out with too much black?  (Beginner here)

Yes, there's WC Blue Cuckoos, WC Blues, and though rare, solid blues as well.

Blue x Tolbunt or even simply Gold Laced = blues and blacks with tiny bit of leakage. The thing is, blue and black are just that. E/E extended black and one blue allele. Laced Polish are a whole collection of things;  - E^R/E^R crowwing (instead of extended black) Columbian restrictor, Darkbrown, Melanizer, Pattern Gene. . . . It's a lot that when crossed out to simple blue or black then back in can get you a whole ton of different odds and ends in color, but once you throw in recessive mottling, it can be tricky. To most people just about any brown leakage will look identical to a Tolbunt (proper good lacing)

It's really up to the buyer. For just 5 eggs, that's quite a risk. From the photo I see those blues are just plain blue, when grown will either be solid blue (w/mottling or white crest) or blue with leakage (w/mottling or white crest)

So I hope the seller actually means Tolbunt AND WCBlues. Who knows. It's up to the buyer to decide, but just as a warning to those interested - There's no blue Tolbunts there.

I thought the same thing.  I didn't really see a blue Tolbunt.

Hey, I have a WC Cuckoo cockerel and some WC Black, WC Cuckoo and WC Blue hen.   I will be breeding them together but am wondering what I will get...

Cuckoo cockerel + Black hen = cuckoo chicks?

Cuckoo cockerel + Cuckoo hen = light / dark cuckoo chicks

Cuckoo cockerel + Blue hen = ............?

you all look like you know what your taking about so thought I might ask.
