Mutant Silkies?

Recently got my first Silkies from a nearby breeder/enthusiast, and as I hadn't researched chickens since we started our flock last year, I really didn't know what to look for. 

 

Are 7 toes and single combs normal/ok, or do I have freaks? 

 

The seller is new to breeding them as well, and hadn't noticed the extra toes. How soon do combs start developing?  I may want to breed some, and I wouldn't want to sell any duds, but I won't cull a chicken for no reason.

 

Also, do the roosters normally shake their head a lot like they have water in their ears?  I think he's just trying to get the feathers out of his eyes to see, since he usually does it when he's walking around in a new place.

That this universe, in all it's infinite wonder, simply is, that it exists at all, is good enough for me. In my eyes, to say that something had to "create" it, to make it what it is, only succeeds to cheapen the experience, to make it less special.
