Please Help. Is this A Unabsorbed Yolk Sac or Umbilical Hernia? Picture Included

this guy was hatched at 7:30AM this morning.  Dont know if this is a unabsorbed yolk sack or something more serious.  Little guy seems to be fine other wise.  I should add that it pipped at 5AM and was hatched by 7:30AM which seems really fast but that is just my thought.  True day 21 would have been at 12PM today.

That looks like the yolk sac.  In my opinion, anyway.  I had one like that, and within a day it wasn't noticeable anymore... good luck with your babies love.gif

just a mom of three teens, 6 RIR, 9 Leghorn,  5 BO, 5 EE,  8 mixed breed chickens, 3 dogs, 20 some cats, and 22 angus...

can I take it out of the incubator and put it with her sister in the brooder that hatched at the same time .  Seems to really want out and they are peeping back and forth to each other

I had it in a little tupperware thing in the incubator so it would not drag it on the metal mesh in the LG.  15 minutes latter it leaked yellow slimy stuff out that looked just like yolk.  the little guy started drinking it so I took it out to get some water and it started to drink water like crazy.  Must have been very thirsty.  it is hanging out in the brooder with its sibling that was also born today and seems to be doing very well.  scratching eating and drinking.

You should probably just keep them in the incubator right now. They absorb that yolk sac and need it.

Delaware are my main birds right now. I have a pair of Silkies and not near enough of all the breeds I would like to have!

 looks like yoke sack try to keep them in the incubator till the are totally dry.
