Help breaking a broody

Thread Starter
One of my golden cuckoo hens is wanting to sit. Today is the first day I noticed this. I do have some 2-3 day old chicks. Would slipping one of these under her tonight break her? I have hay in the nesting boxes, will this hurt the young chicks.

Hay won't hurt the chicks if she adopts them.  There in lies the rub,  She may not have been committed to going broody.  Even if she was she may not have been broody long enough to accept them as hers.

I don't get better with age, only more confused(ing).
