Just a theory! I lived by the beach for 30 years! My family and I are huge boating and fishing peple! I remember leaving the beach reaking of salt  and being all sticky from it without ever going in the water! Sooo... I would imagine if it blew on me then it must blow on the sand too right!?!?! Plus there is high tide! Not a clue if tides reach sand dunes though! Just thinking out loud here!

Good point!!!  Does anyone use beach sand and is it safe?  I won't break any laws to get it, I just want to know if I am doing what's best for my mother cluckers.

The rain flushes the salt off the sand at the dunes, the beach etc...it all ends up back in the ocean.. Look, I think you're reading into this too deeply. Go get your sand for your pen, coop etc...and dont worry about it.

I don't care why the chicken crossed the road, as long as mine don't!
