Later that afternoon, Icestar led Rainwhisker, Lionheart, Sandpaw and Ravenpaw from the camp to do a full border patrol. Sandpaw and Ravenpaw followed quietly, proving to Icestar that they were ready to become warriors. As they walked, their mentors and Icestar asked them questions about the forest. Best spots for prey, how to creep up on a rabbit and others. Both apprentices answered promptly, their pawsteps light and confident as they followed their leader along the MistClan border.
Once they arrived back at camp later that evening, Icestar turned to Sandpaw and Ravenpaw. "Very well done, we will have your ceremony at moonhigh"
Sandpaw and Ravenpaw looked at each other excitedly and raced away to the apprentices den. Icestar watched them go, her expression amused "I wish I had their energy" She mused. Rainwhisker grunted in agreement and followed Lionheart to the freshkill pile.
Once the moon was high in the sky, Icestar leaped on top of the Highrock "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, join beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!" At once the cats rose to their paws and padded lightly into the clearing, the moon turning their fur silver. Ravenpaw and Sandpaw emerged from the apprentices den, their fur sleek and shiney after a recent groom. Their mentors, Rainwhisker and Lionheart, walked beside them.
As soon as the Clan was settled, Icestar continued "I, Icestar, leader of StreamClan, call upon our warrior ansesters to look down on these two apprentices. They have trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code and I commend them to you as warrior in their turn. Ravenpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
Ravenpaw looked nervous, but his voice was clear and determined when he meowed "I do."
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Ravenpaw, from this moment onwards you shall be known as Ravenclaw. StarClan honors your loyalty and determination and we welcome you as a full warrior of StreamClan." Icestar bent her head to touch the young warriors head and he licked her shoulder respectfully in return, then drew back to stand with the other warriors.
"Sandpaw" Icestar turned to the second apprentice. "Do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"I do" The young she-cat replied confidently.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Sandpaw, from this moment on you shall be known as Sandstreak. StarClan honors you and we welcome you as a full warrior of StreamClan." Icestar bent her head as she had for Ravenclaw and Sandstreak did the same in return.
"Ravenclaw! Sandstreak! Ravenclaw! Sandstreak!" The Clan's voices rose to congradulate the new warriors, Redpaw, Sorrelpaw and Willowpaw's being the loudest as they pressed around their old denmates.
