Are my shipped fertile eggs going to survive the shipping and handling?

I am worried about buying eggs online to be shipped to me for incubation. I don't want to pay $30 for 10 eggs and none of them hatch because of S&H. Any advice?? I live in a small town and there are no egg suppliers. Just mixed breed eggs. But I would like a certain breed. not a mix.

Look through the eggs section of the Buy Sell Trade forum here, read the seller feedback -- and cross your fingers that the postal service is kind to you.

Or, look through the chicken breeders and hatcheries forum here, and see if someone is close enough to drive to.  You might be pleasantly surprised.

Where are you located?  The closer the supplier, the better the hatch.  My best hatch was 10 out of 13 eggs shipped from Kentuck to Missouri.

I'm in CO. I did not think about finding the closest supplier. I will check into it. Thanks :)
