is this really just the color of the eggs??? or does it have more meaning?

It is just the color of the eggs. No deeper meaning.

It is a bird who lays olive colored eggs yes but most importantly and lately least understood is that it is a bird who originated from a cross of a DARK brown egg layer and a blue or green egg layer. They could have either been the direct parents or grandparents or whatever, but, that's how the Olive Egger is originally created.
