ok..... yup, my fault he has a complex.

"bird is a RSL.   he was SUPPOSED to be a pullet out of the Tractor Supply bin in 2010. hu.gif  but i am glad he ended up a he. 

 

oh wait, maybe that's why he is so 'girly'

Every GOOD rooster I have ever had has gone into nest boxes to encourage pullets to lay. All that tid-bitting call, lots of turning around, etc. The funniest was when a black Jersey Giant did it - he actually got a girl to get in with him, but he was ay the back all scrunched up and I laughed so hard when he had to maneuver his way back from behind her and out of the nest box.

All of them exited these nest boxes with their masculinity intact.

Bird is just a great roo, that's all!

oh I know, it's just so funny to make a jest of him.  He has always done that little 'come here ladies, nest here!' chat. it's so darn cute. Just makes you want to snuggle him.   uh, almost.

Carl even scopes out cardboard boxes I stack at the end of the porch u 'til I get ready to break them down. Sometimes he gets a hen or two into one, and I hear him but cannot see a single feather of either!

Once I bent down and peered in (should have had my camera!) only to meet his gaze. He growled for a second, then TID-BITTED me!
