Our community in Harrisburg NC was hit by tornados on 3-3-12 and one of my chicken pens

made by Rooster Hill farms was a total loss, however the roosting box was still togeather with

the 4 hens in it shaken up but still alive. I had to bust the box apart to get the hens out it was 3:30 AM

and I just busted the box apart and pulled them to safety.

The first picture is from Rooster Hill Farms website showing how it did look.

Wow hard to believe they survived that. Glad you and the hens are Ok. I heard that some people in TN had their horses picked up by tornado and put back on ground standing and Ok too.

That must have been so scary!  Glad you're all safe.

Whoever said don't count your chickens before they're hatched clearly never tried to count chickens after they're hatched.

I'm really sorry about your coop!  Glad your chickens were okay!  Last year, we lost two out buildings in a tornado-- our larger barn survived.  NO fun!!  I don't envy you the clean up-- that takes forever!  Okay-- you said you had to break thru the box... WHERE??!  LOL  The whole coop looks entirely torn up into pieces, I don't see where a box was that you had to break into?  I'm just seeing pieces...??   Looks like there was a lot of damage, and that is sad.  :(  BTW-- that was a great looking coop... Before.
