OK, so ya, I read the warnings that said, do not panic if you see a "tumor" suddenly appear on your chicks neck after eating - its a full crop.

Well, I fed my chicks their scrambled eggs, and picked up my runt to take her to the new nipple water-er (I want to make sure she "gets" it, all the others have lol) and she has a new huge tumor on the side of her neck! AGH!!!!!!! I panic, of course, hearing the words"Don't panic its a full crop..." echoing in my head, but shes my RUNT and I'm nervous for her! And Ive never noticed it before!

Its off to the side on her neck a little?

And bulging (she DID pig on scrambled eggs..)

And when I blew on her feathers it was ugly and vein-y looking LOL

Please post a full crop pic so I can sleep tonight and not sit outside the vets office with my darling little runt chickie with a neck tumor!

Okay the chick in the pic isn't a chicken but it's basically the same. You can see the crop is bulging and round. It may feel hard and you may even feel some detail through the skin. It's also a very vascular area, and can go off to the side.(In case you were wondering it's a cockatiel chick)

Some of my Japanese bantams hens are real pigs at meal times! When I first got them I was horrified to see some get huge swellings on their chest. I caught them up and felt they were hard and I was so worried. One even was almost dragging of the ground!

I thought they had growths or impacted crops and was really upset - determined to take them to the vets the next morning. However, the next morning they were back to normal - the I realised it was just full crops. Silly me!

Yeah, even if it is off to the side, it is still the same thing. This is my chick, it is not real big or off to the side like yours, but the bump is still there.

She doesnt have a tumor, shes going to live! Yay!! LOL
Good lord! Even with the warnings of DONT PANIC .. ITS A FULL CROP, you panic... I wasnt prepared for my little runt girl to have a GOLF BALL sized vein-y tumor like bulge, when I was warned "full crop."
Oh boy.. Us new chicken mommas.. LOL
