The building of Pea Palace(Pic Heavy) - Page 37

Wow man! I clicked on your link you left on my thread and just started reading.......Awesome pens!!!! I am definitely going to use some of your ideas if you don't mind. They look great and you do awesome work. I am the same way, not much of a carpenter but I can be ridiculously meticulous when it comes to setting posts and such. But, looking at your pens, it is definitely worth it!

More building going on here, some for peas and some for another poultry project. The delapadated building taken down this time was an old open front garage measuring 18'x10' with a concrete footer around 3 sides. There is a converted "lean to"  type garage that I stripped the rusty galvanized tin off of several years ago,and put wood sheet siding on and stained it on the other side of this new addition. I plan to woodstain this new addition which will be 20'x30' when completed to match the other side. Hopefully between working 60 hours a week days like today keep coming for two more weekends to get it enclosed. This old garage is behind our house about 30 feet. Last winter trudging out to Pea Palace to do chores nightly became a real chore especially after we had snow and the wind would blow, causing a snowdrift about 3' deep and 40' long. The old garage "lean to" already in place housed about 20 peas last winter so when the new addition is completed no peas will be pit in the Palace over the wintertime.

This picture shows the old garage lean to that was converted a few years ago. It measures about 10'x16' Please refer back to the beginning of this thread where the "Austree" windbreak trees were planted around the perimeter of the back yard. You can see some of them here in the background, easily some are 40' tall now. They are the trees to the far left (above the dirt pile) and behind the wood posts in front of the blue feed barrel.
