Some pics of our recent hatch.

Our first hatch. She was so tired.

A group of the first hatch. The incubator was getting too crowded.

Six of the chicks that hatched in the incubator were added to the chicks our broody hen hatched. She is a 10 month old Buff Orpington and a great mama. She has 15 chicks and 1 turkey poult. After that she refused any more, so we have 16 chicks that are brooding without a mama hen.

they are so cute. Congrats! Looking at all the chicks really makes me want to try next yr.

15 midget white turkey eggs went into the hatcher this afternoon...  I had my 1st external pip last night day 24 which is a day early, and

when I got home today about 4 other eggs had pipped.  Increase the humidity in the room and moved all the eggs to the hatcher.

Lots more external pipps now, and chirping, rocking eggs, but no hatches yet.  It's going to be along weekend !!!  

Woke up this morning to a hatcher filled with turkey poults, it is a mess in there, and the windows are all fogged up, so

I can't see exactly how many have hatched, did make out 3 eggs that haven't hatch.

Will wait another day before I move the hatched poults to the brooder.

Congrats zekii !! I missed your post due to the wonderful Easter weekend.

After last weeks hatch we had 5 eggs left in the bator, 1 turkey due Easter weekend, and 4 chick eggs from a broody that abandoned her nest. Several of the eggs had been laid in her nest by other hens on unknown days. Egg Surprise !!   Since then we also took 3 eggs from a broody hen that is Mama to 15 chicks and 1 turkey poult.

Saturday evening one of the turkey poults hatched and yesterday, Easter, a chick hatched. I candled the rest of the eggs and the last turkey egg is ??, one of the chick eggs we removed from Mama had no air sac and was liquid, the rest are right on target, all but one could be any day.
