First, watching a runner duck run is awesome. They can find their own food. They aren't like pekins in water. Mine haven't started laying but I heard their decent.

Its not as fat and slow as a pekin, but its not frail either. I want a mallard but I don't want a flying bird. The rouen is great for that.

They are my calmest birds and are easiest to catch. They eat less than Pekins. I heard they also lay well, but mine are younger.

I just got four pullets from a lady who said she called them Americaunas. Is there any way of telling what they really are, maybe by the color of egg? It really doesn't matter but I'd like to know for fun.

If it isn't an Arabian it's just a horse.

Ask where she got her chickens from. Unless hers are from a (very) reliable breeder, they are EE's.

Post pics of them here and we can tell you.

If they came from a hatchery, feed store or a "breeder" who can't tell you what color they are, they're easter eggers.

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!
