Neytiri ducked under several trees and into a large cave. "We can stay here for tonight." She said, gripping her shoulder somewhat painfully. "Papa, lay him down over there. Karan, you go sit somewhere, then I'll play with you, okay?" Neytiri smiled. "Okay!" Karan mused, bouncing off to a wall of the cave and sitting down.

Eric gripped his side in pain, the wound felt even worse than before. There was also a bullet wound in his chest...

Ney's shirt had been torn severely, several bullets lodged in her skin. The sleeve of her left shoulder had been completely torn off, where a bullet was buried. She had another bullet in her leg. And another in her side. Neytiri collapsed in a fit of coughing, blood pouring from her mouth.

Eric knew he was dying, so he told Uktral and Aiet'ey to focus on helping Ney.

(Well, Eric was working for the enemy, but didn't want to. The enemy was holding his family captive until he killed Austin. They were also holding Neytiri's family captive. So Eric and Ney went off to find their families, and they did find them. But during the process of getting out, Eric was shot multiple times. Ney was shot too. Eric is now dying.)
