Check out that link that Tahai posted.  As for the biting they will get calmer as you handle them more.

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?

Yes, put them in a box with a heat lamp. Try to make sure you have it at the right temperature. They will tell you when they are too hot or to cold. If it too hot, then they will avoid the light. If it is to cold, they will all huddle towards it.

I've got 2 cats, Dyllen and Star. I have 17 chickens; 3 BLRW, 3 mutts, 2 EEs, 2 White Rock roosters, 1 RIR, 1 White Leghorn, 1 Red Star, 1 Golden Campine, 1 unknown hen, 1 Partridge cochin, and 1  Golden Polish. I also have 1 Swedish/Black Indian Runner laying on 8 eggs.

We put our new duckies in a big rubbermaid bin as they soak through a cardboard box very quickly!  But I'm sure you've discovered that already.

Currently we have 22 Khaki Campbells, 4 Saxonys, 3 white Runners, 3 brown Runners, and 4 Muscovys; 3 Chantecler chickens; 9 Embden goslings, and 6 future dinner turkey poults, and then there were these four Rouen ducklings that were extras at the feed store...  The door is always revolving.

Enjoy!

Please read all that you can on the forum about raising ducklings . . . watch them closely, because they can be sick or injured quickly.  They can suffer if their brooder is too hot, too cold, too wet.

We would love to hear back from you how it's going.  No question is too unimportant for you to ask.

And, if you can upload pictures, that would be wonderful!
