White feed that smells like licorice?

Thread Starter

I bought a couple bags of Dumor crumbled feed last week at TSC. When I opened it the first thing I smelled was licorice and the feed was a pale white color. Usually it is brown/tan. Anybody else seen this? I'm wondering if the ingredients are correct also. Thanks

I have noticed that sometimes moldy feed will have a perfumy or strange smell. I would return it if it isn't its usual color and smell.

Definitely thinking it is mold - color/scent ... get your $ worth and exchange it -- the rest of the bags on their shelf might need to be looked at, or they already have others coming in to be returned.

Could be anise or fennel seed.
