Can you feed chickens bacon/meat fat?

I found this recipe for bird cakes here http://www.insteadoftv.com/47/make-an-easy-bird-cake-from-table-scraps/ and you can use table scraps and fat. I was wondering if anyone knew if this would be a good idea for chickens?

I have heard of people giving them meat one person said they even gave them some chicken

I have given them meat and chicken too, they love it....so maybe that means the fat is okay too.

I don't know??? I just LOL every time I think of feeding chicken to a chicken because that facebook movie pops in my head every time "Don't other fish it other fish?"
