i got red pullets at TSC too the first wing featers where like that too but as they got older they turned darker in color

 

1 crazy cat, 13 ameracaunas, 4 PR, 6silkies , 2 TT, 6 ;GSL, ;and 3 bos, 4 cochins, 10 leghorns, 6 blue laced red wyandotte, 6 crested birds yet to be determined and finally 2 mix crazy chicks thats my flock

WOW! Ok, I'm assured. I guess I was concerned that they weren't actually red (NH/production/RIR) at the store and I wasn't really paying attention that day. Thanks everyone!

The remaining 6 of my original 7 barred rocks are 3yrs old and happily divided between a friend and my mom.
Laying: 2 Partridge Rocks, 1 Columbian Wyandotte and 2 Black Australorps. 14 weeks: 3 bantam Araucana.
Cowed to chicken math and sharing my bedroom with 8 BBS Ameraucana mixes.

My red pullet from TSC was yellow as well, then feathered in red :D

Lol, those are SLW young roos, picked up at TSC at the same time. I picked all of them out in the mixed breed bin smile.png

They are some type of sex link pullets. The sex linkage means the hens are gold based, so can be yellowish to reddish, sometimes a brown, and the cockerals are silver based, so basically white with leakage as they age. Those girls are definately gold based, They'll darken in as they feather.

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!

So are your red sex links really buff orps, because I got mine at tsc and they look just like your red ones. brought mine in troy ohio
