My Chickens Backside is R-E-D, red please help.

So I am assuming this problem started about 2-3 months ago. I kept noticing that Funky ,my beloved almost a year old RIR roo kept having dried poop on his feathers on his but. So I washed him, and noticed that the area looked red, like ants had gotten him, but the "bites" didn't have puss. A rash from the poop right??? So I clipped some of his but feathers. Not enough where his but was exposed.

Fast forward to today I noticed that he had poop on his but ugh so I washed him, but this time his skin up and down his backside was RED like his wattles, and comb! The feathers have not grown back.

What is wrong with my chicken? I have a pic, but its gross so if you really need it I can  pm it to u.

Thanks for any comments.

Naked chicken skin always turns bright red.  Nothing to worry about!  It looks painful, but it is perfectly normal.

Good luck.
