what do i do with the real eggs until the hen goes broody????????

The whole point of using a broody is so that you don't have to use an incubator. Are you a girl? if you are a girl there is a really easy method but I can't tell it to you until I am sure you are a girl. if you aren't a girl than do you have a heating pad or a heated blanket? you could try wrapping the eggs in one of those. good luck!

Most hens will wait until they have a clutch of eggs before they begin brooding (incubating) them. Eggs will keep for quite a while before the hen actually gets around to incubating them.

The previous poster is right in that you should do nothing. Let the hen accumulate her eggs so nature can kick in.

I seem to remember something about a woman who put the eggs in her bosom to keep them warm.  Perhaps that is the girl secret.  Apparently a lot of women need to keep their iPhones warm as that seems to be a popular place to store your cell phone these days.

If you are waiting for a hen to go broody, you could be waiting a long time - until way after the eggs are rotten.  I wouldn't save any eggs in the hopes a hen will go broody.  Just having broody breeds doesn't guarantee a broody hen either.  I've had two BO's for three years who have never gone broody, while my BSL, who shouldn't even consider it, went broody last August - when temps were in the triple digits for the entire time she was sitting.

Go ahead and eat your eggs.  When you have a broody, then is the time to think about saving eggs for her.

Mike, iphones actually have very sensitive mechanics and are prone to breakage with severe temperature changes, such as: stepping out of a hot car/club and into the cool night air.  Therefore women "protect" their iphones by keeping them warm.  This is why men's phones break more often than the lady's.   

I don't know about eggs though... I've kept 5 phones warm before, but never tried eggs.

I like to keep my car keys warm that way too. But be forewarned, it's not the best method for warming paper cash. Humidity can accumulate.
