Keeping a secret in the bedroom..A clucky chicken!

It was fun, and I'm kinda glad it is a fake I would hate to hear that she had to give the Silkie away. :)
We should make this a page where we post pictures of our cute silkies doing cute things.

Hey everyone! just read all the replies...im back! no im not a fake lol!! I just havnt been back on this website for a while thats all. :) And the outcome...She stayed!! After a few weeks after the post i got grounded. not for the chicken (which was still a secret) but for something else entirely. When my mom took my phone away, she looked at my pictures. and, i suppose you could guess the rest but ill tell you anyway! I had taken so many pictures of penny and forgot to erase them that my mom saw them all on my phone!! At first i said it was pictures i had saved from google images, but then she noticed the background in the images her reply was "hmm, that bedroom set looks familiar"..haha!

She was pretty mad at first but the burden of keeping a secret form her was finally gone. She at first told me to find a new home asap, but as days went on she started getting used to the idea. Penny used her charm to charm my mother into letting me keep her. It was actually pretty funny because penny for some strange reason, loved my moms toes. her toenails specifically. I think its because my mother always has perfect pedicured and polished toes. She would chase after my mom and peck at them! my mom would try having conversations with me and with penny chasing her, my mom would have to jump around the entire first floor of the house! She rarely did it anymore after a few months, but it was so funny!!

After a while, Penny and i were best buds and we literally did everything together. She followed me around like i was her chicken mother. We did homework together, watched tv together (i know...strange!), and we played hide and seek a few times. I would hide, she would sqwauk , and go looking for me. Another funny thing is that my dogs are absolutely terrified of her. My small dogs!!

Unfortunatley, about a few months ago, Penny passed away from an unknown cause. Just a few days before she had passed away she was acting like her normal self. She had good exercise, the house was a good temperature even though she had her own warm cuddle corner, was eating healthy and everything. This was very upsetting but i made a little rock and garden area in her memory outside my house. The angel of her must be helping my tomato plants, because they have starting growing so rapidly its unbelievable. I just recently started thinking of another pet chicken..or chickens. I bought a small incubator the other day and some hatching eggs for turkens. Which leads me to the next plan in this chapter: Lets incubate these eggs, inside my room, next to the bed, and of course...dont tell mom! -Alex ps.Ill try and stay posted this time sorry guys!

I remember reading this thread a while ago. It's great to see your follow-up! I'm glad you got to keep her but I'm so sorry you lost her. :( Had she begun laying yet? That's too bad.
Good luck on your next hatch! :thumbsup
