Buying doves in pet store? - Page 3

Petland purchases all of their animals from mills, I would not support them at all. They tend to lie and say it's local breeders, but it's really a pet "factory". Google Petland + Puppy Mills to find out more. Even though you're not buying a puppy, the same info applies, and I couldn't in good conscience support a company that does business that way.

I have been searching high and low for someone who sells ringneck doves! If you still have any and will ship to New Hampshire I am extremely interested. I have a single female who would like a mate.

http://truecolorsloft.webs.com/ has ringnecks.  Don't know anything about them though, but something to check out.  :)

I KNOW THAT SOME OF THE  PET STORES  FEED STORES  IN THE NEW YORK  CITY AREA  HAVE  BIRDS SALES  IF  I WERE YOU  THATS WERE I WOULD START. IF THE DOVE LOOKS GOOD  AND HEALTHY  WHY NOT BUY IT  COST ALITTLE MORE BUT YOU MAY SAVE IT  FROM A UNCAREING BUYER

Your in New York, check some of the feed stores. They may know some pigeon fanciers that also have doves.

Sounds like a good deal.  Do you know what color(s) they are?

Well I'm in Jacksonville FL, but they are smutty white with splashes all over.

One of them is standard colored (Eurasian collard dove- self brown).

There's a guy at my feed store that breeds them in his aviary.
