Problem Eggs...

Thread Starter
I have two female Muscovies, one of which is laying.. At least I think only one of them is. Regardless, in the last few days we've had some funky eggs that I was hoping someone could help me with..?

Straight out of the coop they look almost hard boiled! Some are completely solid, some are a little less solid, and some are just fine.. hmm.png

Any ideas? Suggestions as to stop this from happening? It hasn't even gotten hot, hot here yet!

Wife to the most amazing husband, Mommy to a precious baby girl, the sweetest American Bulldog, a rotten Mini Pig, 2BB Hens, 4SLW Hens, a Mottled Japaneese Banty Hen, a Red Cochin Banty Hen, 2 Birchen Cochin Banty Roos, a Penciled Cochin Banty Roo, Splash Cochin Banty Roo, a Grey Jap Banty Roo AND 2 BTB Jap Roos... Couldn't ask for anything better!

If it is just the yolks, often duck yolks are very thick and can seem nearly solid.  They are raw yolk color, though, not cooked yolk color.

If eggs freeze, the whites will get cloudy and can appear nearly white.

I read on here a while back of someones chicken doing this. They cut the egg in half because it was solid, to take pictures of it. Try a sreach on it...can't remember what the thread was called or what the problem was.  Good luck
