Set eggs 3/17.... Anyone else? - Page 8

I set 3/17 and have had three chicks hatch so far.  All the rest (10) have pipped.  The first one hatched at 8:30 this morning, how long should I leave them in the bator before I take them out??  Thanks!!

They can stay in for 48 hours if you want. The idea is to not open incubator until all that have pipped hatch. They will mostly rest after all that effort hatching. Once fluffed out and if causing too much chaos reach in real quick as to not loose humidity in incubator.

We're up to 3 pips, all on shipped eggs.

There's so little to fear from hatching even chickens dare. In fact, it's so easy a turkey can do it.

Thank you Egghead jr.  That's what I thought.  This is the first time we have incubated and it is sooo exciting!  Good luck on your shipped eggs!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am so happy for you and your chicks! I only had 7 left at lockdown... Temps in my house dropped dramatically one night and killed a lot of them. Tomorrow is day 21 and still no pips. Uggggggggggggg... I have incubator envy now. I hope all is well with them. I have been really struggling to keep humidity up. It has been staying around 58. Crossing my fingers.

Hi! I just joined :)  My first hatch ever and we have 2 so far. Same date as yours. We have 6 more pips and it is exciting. Except I'm super impatient now, lol. Also kinda addicting. After these are done I'm going to get more from a friends farm to put back in, lol.

As I said I set mine also on the 17th and today is day 20. I've been like a kid on Christmas morning for the past 3 days and I think I might have seen slight movement, but no pips. The temp and humidity are fine but I'm almost freaking out now. I understand sometimes the eggs arent fertalized or something weird happens, but the disappointment is starting to set in. Is there anything I can do? Please help? hit.gifbarnie.gif

I should say that we put ours in that day, but I think they may have been 2 days old ;)  It is hard being patient! I've had to leave twice and each time I have come home to a new chick. haha

We have our first one hatched. started zipping 9:25 PM and was out of egg 9:50 PM, quick little bugger. Looks to be a black Blue Plymouth Rock.

Not bad, and not too early. Our few start of pips were before 1 and I'd set noon on Saturday. One of our own birds egg is starting to zip too.
