now..what would y'all do with emu eggs...?

cause you can't candle them at all and the average incubation is around 50+ days!

Buncha Outdoor PET chickens, ducks, two Toulouse ganders, and four turkeys. Plus 2 wiener dogs, some bunnies and a rescue cat which owns me. Oh. And a house silkie....

I would kiss them (sterily of course) and love them and tap on them and talk to them and oh look a chicken.

And by the way, this early in the game I can't see anything developing in either the turkey or the silkie eggs.

Yes, I candled again today.

Every time they find a new spot I build them a suitable box in the area but then they move somewhere else smack.gif

I was worried about this  . . . . hens and Sr tom are penned!! First egg today!! It's in the bator already!

I'm starting to think a turner would be a good investment . . . in my sanity!  I set the LG temps at 101 then loaded the eggs. Barely making 99 so far. I so hate fiddling with the LG temp knob--I can hear Renee yelling at me, LEAVE IT ALONE !gig.gif

Got my turkey eggs today and they are resting.  Will put them in the incubator, along with some BBS orp eggs tomorrow and some more of my chicken eggs next week, so I'll be a few days behind everyone else.

No, with any luck I'll be setting tomorrow night, so I'll be behind you.  The pheasant egg that pipped this morning finally hatched this evening (with a little help from me), so I shut off the bator for awhile.  Came back to clean it out to start the turkey eggs and picked up the other pheasant egg I was sure hadn't made it.  Tapped on it . . nothing, so I pipped the air cell to see how far it had gotten, and it PEEPED at me!!!  th.gif  I quickly plugged the bator back in, wrapped the egg in a damp paper towel, and stuck it back in and am trying to raise humidity fast.  It might not make it, but I COULDN'T just throw it away, could I ?!?!?!  hit.gif  It just peeped at me again.  love.gif   I sure hope you guys are right that turkey eggs can be older when started.  fl.gif

Gobble gobble turkey hatchers!

SCG has graciously set up a chart for us to enter our eggs set. I thought it would be fun to at least have an idea of how many turkey eggs we have all set. Please post your number set here

The filled out form can be found here:

We are going to work on a few contests (just one a week starting next week) and would love some suggestions.  If you have a great idea and are willing to run the contest let us know.

If anyone knows how to do the URL links the "fancy" way, this technically challenged (and frustrated person from trying to find the answer) would love to know how.

ETA - Thank you Zookeeper it is fixed!
