First Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatchathon- Join us! Set Day: Easter - Page 60

Yah, I came home last night to find 3 newly hatched chicks and by this morning there were three more... That incubator must have a low temp not what the digital readout indicated... I guess.

So my reported hatch rate was 21/46 when it is now up tp 27/46.

I had some of everybody's eggs hatch! All three sources!

Buncha Outdoor PET chickens, ducks, two Toulouse ganders, and four turkeys. Plus 2 wiener dogs, some bunnies and a rescue cat which owns me. Oh. And a house silkie....

And WHY, pray tell, are you not officially in the hatch......huh?  Put her/him in Chooks, we got a live one on the line!  What size and color do you want?

All hatch participants must report in the size and color for their straight jackets! wink.png

smile.png  I would, I don't think it will hurt at all and I think the lower temps so far will be fine.  It's the high spikes that are deadly......

Also, I think someone should just add Yinepu, since they are hatching anyway.  highfive.gif

X2 and X3 (respectively)  I would rather they hatch a little late then die from a heat spike.  If your temps are staying pretty stable, I would leave it.  If they do hatch a little late, you will have company since I think Linda has yet to set (c'mon Easter chicks, Linda has turkeys to set! gig.gif)

Homework is done for the day!!!!!!!!! wee.gif  Don't like my stinkin geology prof since he does not organize in "DiDi" fashion.  tongue.gif  He should know better.  Jamming three different topics onto only two powerpoint slides.  Geesh, even I can tell that should be three slides.  Well I did it his way but the pictures are tiny

Now I have to go out and see if I can get a picture of Tom and Lurkey together (or at least in the same frame) for the next contest.

I just took a quick iPhone pic but I might get out my nice camera, as these were way easier to check than chicken eggs.

I think 2 of my emu eggs that are due to hatch on the 5th are bad... they aren't losing weight like they are supposed to... I know the lady that gave them to me said some of the eggs were really old.. but I think she may have had one of the old eggs mixed up with one of the newer eggs

barnie.gifI WANT TO SEE SOMETHING IN MINE!

I do have to say though that I've been playing in dirt almost all day and it feels so fantastic. Got about 40 tomato seedlings repotted. Then I got the cold frame outside. I had to call CrazyNeighborLady to come help drag it to the front yard on account of my stupid (and possibly broken) finger, but I lured her over here under the pretense of free eggs. It was free eggs, and I got free labor! All in how you look at it. Unfortunately (and fortunately) it got to over 100 degrees inside and then the plexiglass sizzled off on one side, gig.gif, so boyfriend is going to have to screw it down when he gets home.

Waiting for my bread to rise now, and off to do some more chores... and think about candling my eggs later tonight. yesss.gif

The Easter Hatchalong just gets better every year!  One of the better things this year was that it sparked Renee to have this Turkeython!  yesss.gif

Hmmm.....I think I'll go with a black with white pinstripe (the narrow ones for a slimming effect), size large.....don't want it to be too tight!  big_smile.png

A picture of Tom and Lurkey for a contest.....what could that be all about  4pensando.gif
