If no others are pipped, and the babies are dry, then yes take them out.

Yes, let's stay here!!!!!   I have some set to lockdown Wednesday, some more set to lockdown sometime after that....some more after that....and some more after that.....and hopefully I win the Serama auction so some more after that.....

Then I am going to try to stop and hatch out Rhode Islands from my flock and sell chicks to support my habit!!!!

 

smchickfarm....I love your pictures of the babies!  I need you to come help me take good pictures of my guys.  I keep blaming the bad pics on the camera, but maybe it's just me      hide.gif

Babies are doing great. Float tested the only egg left and it didn't do anything, scratched the shell heard nothing and then candled it saw a fully developed chick with no movement. So I decided to open the shell via the air sack, saw a fully developed chick that hadn't touched the membrane and the chick was dead, didn't want to go or see a need to go any farther. The cause, i don't know and I guess don't care because I did have a very successful hatch of, here it goes, 23 out of 24. I gave myself a big pat on the back and everyone one BYC for doing such wonderful jobs. Especially us first timers thumbsup.gif

What is the float test? I stiil have 4 that have not hatched and I don't see them moving at all any ideas? Or at what point should I give up and open them? Today at 3:00pm is day 23 any tips/info would be great! Thanks

The waiting was killing me so I opened all 4 and they were all fully developed but they were all dead? hit.gif Any ideas guys? I would hate for this to happen again somad.gif I have 19 going in lockdown Thursday. I will be better prepared this time tho! I only had my hatcher Incubator setup about 5-6 hrs before I put the eggs in maybe it was to soon?...but the temp was holding at 100 degrees and my humidity was holding between 66-68%. Any help would be great it seems like all you guys done better than me? idunno.gif I only had 3 out of 7 hatch.

You had a GREAT hatch!!!!  celebrate.gif  can't wait to see pics!!!
