Wholewheatchicken has offered me more eggs so may try again soon. Have to wait to get this batch out to the coop brooder 1st tho.  I candled the 36 eggs I had in that old LG this morning and NOT ONE single egg was developed (today is day 18) UHHHH!!!!! That thing is going right back to the neighbor, I will use my Hovabator. I'll keep everyone posted when I put a new batch in. So glad everyone is staying here. This has been lots and lots of fun.

I played with those eggs.....and scrambled the rest........hide.gif   I just checked and I have two fresh ones on the table.  The girls will be picking up quickly on getting back to laying!!!  Let me know if you want them to play with.  We've been selling our extra Red eggs so I've been feeding the extra silkie eggs back to the chickens.....yyyuuummmm.   I have a new partridge roo that I'm hoping will throw some awesome babies with the girls.  As I am typing my DH and I are discussing new chicken housing pens so everyone will be separated!!!

Okay.  I finally got my eggs into lockdown one day late.  Things were just crazy here today.  I put 34 in, but I know a few were not viable.  I just didn't take the time to look through the eggs again since I was running so far behind.  I'm very nervous because I had to end up using the LG still air that I had sitting around here waiting to go back to the store.  I haven't played with it much and that was one of the holdups as I kept fiddling with it.  I keep telling myself it will be okay....this is just a temperature and humidity thing and as long as I have my temperature and humidity right it will be okay.....right, guys?????

Were they fertile?  If so, what do you think went wrong.  I keep thinking about you posting this a few days ago and every time I have to mess with the LG your story is on my mind.  My temps have been steady so I'm hoping.....

Wholewheatchicken these are a mix of (6)black austrolorp,(5) rhode island red, (7)new hampshires(6) delaware and I have 2 barred rock hens and 3 EE hens. I put in 6 ee eggs. I have one New hampshire roo, 1 Black austrolorp roo and 2 EE roos and one has the blue egg laying gene due to his comb size.

Please don't go by my experience with this LG...the poor thing was really in some disrepair when I got it. And because I am not familiar with LG I didn't realize the neighbor added his own fancy thermo to the top ( it was reading about 5 degrees too cool !!!). It was all my mistakes and hurrying that caused this batch to fail. I think you will be fine with your experience. Best of luck
