I won't candle this group until day 10. Just candled my group that is a week ahead and only threw out 3 of 45 that either didn't develop or had a blood ring. Hope this batch is just as good!

Me(Brandi), 1 very tolerant boyfriend, 1 chestnut Thoroughbred mare, 2 red Staffordshire Bull Terriers, 7 barn cats.
Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, part-English Lavender/Black/Mottled Orpingtons, Blue Wheaten/Wheaten Ameraucanas, Appenzeller Spitzhaubens, Guineas.

Tomorrow is lockdown for my first batch of eggs    ya.gif    I am so nervous.  I haven't been successful yet.  I'm not sure what went wrong with my first batch...okay, I have an idea, but I've only publicly announced it one time, LOL!  The second batch I dried out.  This is the third time and please let there be truth to the old clique the third time's a charm     fl.gif

I weighed the eggs this time before I put them in, but that too was a learning process.  I weighed in ounces instead of grams so it's somewhat of a guess how accurate my weights are.  I converted the rates, but the ounces didn't weigh exactly and, wow, those little guys don't lose very much weight over the course of three weeks.  I keep weighing them and the silkie eggs look like they are okay, but the RIR eggs I am worried are too big.  Some of the random testing I did showed that some were fairly close and others looked way high.  I can do sticky chicks.........sticky chicks would be live chicks     yippiechickie.gif

Is there anyone here who is in need of a Serama cockerel?  It's a mean little critter.....keeps pulling the Silkies feathers out.  I hear him terrorizing someone right now.  How is it you're the world's smallest chicken and you're a bully?  And the law of nature, I have three boys and one girl, LOL.

yuckyuck.gif     Good luck.  Did you sign up for the Easter Hatchalong?  I did have some I set, but I took them all back out again.  There are others on this thread that will have eggs hatching the same time as you.

What did you set?

Someone bid on my e-bay eggs.....drats!!!!   I can't decide when I should put my offer in.  Will have to watch them closely today and tomorrow.   Keeping my fingers crossed for them   fl.gif         My Ameraucana eggs were put on the delivery truck.  I'm hoping they make it here okay.  I left a HUGE sign on my mailbox asking the mail lady to bring them up to the house if they don't fit.  I'm just going to keep on believing my little babies are A-OK!  I missed her at the post office by 20 minutes.

Will post how they look as soon as I open the package.   My hatching LG bator should be here in the next few hours.  My DH takes his sweet time about getting home after work.  I gathered up a bunch of things from TSC I had around the house and got my receipts and had him take everything back that I was sure I could live without.  That should pay for most of it....without spending much extra money!!!
