Mixing types of eggs?

Yes, they are all chickens, but . . . . I am hatching out some seramas, some  La Fleche, some of my own muttmix, and throwing some silkies in the bator for a friend ( hey, why not use the extra room?).  I have heard serama only take 19 days, is it okay if I just put them in a day or two late?  Also, when they hatch, do I have to be there (I work 9-5)?  I am a little worried about them being such different sizes when they hatch and whether they will pick on each other that young. I also don't want to open the bator and shrinkwrap anyone to their shell.

thanks

You should be fine.  Chickens are chickens.  THey wont know that their hatchmate looks different til they get a bit older.

I'd rather be chickening...

I actually think it's better not to be there. Then you won't be tempted to help if you think something's not right.

You can even mix chickens, ducks whatever.

So, it won't bother them to go on lockdown early because of the serama?  or should I wait a day or two to put the little guys in?  I don't want to lose viability, but then
I don't want to jeporadize (sp) anyones chances of hatching.

BTW thanks for calming my fears on the size mixing  :)  my roo is half brahma so my mutt mix might be big, but they ARE still just chicks.

I would think it's okay to mix them. Currently I have standard sized eggs, bantam eggs, serama eggs, quail eggs and a lonely duck egg.

All of them have different hatch dates LOL. Tonight I have 4 bantam and 11 standard eggs due, on the 26th I have quail, the 7th I have serama/bantie/standard, and finally on the 9th I have a duck.
