Problem when turning eggs

I have button quail eggs in the bator right now and I've had several get broken as I'm turning them.  They are getting stuck to the wire floor and small bits of shell are coming off. barnie.gif  Any ideas on what is going on?

My guess is that you have to use smaller wire on your floor. What is the size of your hardware cloth?

If it is ½ your babies can crawl through the wire after they hatch. Cover the floor with a piece of screen for now will help.

It could be the shells are just too weak or you are being ruff on the eggs. Pick up and set the egg down to turn, don’t roll them and you may have better luck.
