Along with a huge sales area, we'll have a Show Clinic designed to teach newbies the ropes of poultry exhibition in a relaxed atmosphere. There will also be a Coop Tour featuring poultry housing designed and built by area craftsmen. Bring the entire family. The volunteer fire dept. will be here running the concession stand. All proceeds go to support the Sharpsburg Heritage Festival in September. There will be pony rides and a moon bounce for the kiddies and plenty to see and do. Camping is free. **if you see the same item twice, that's because multiple vendors are bringing the same thing**

Vendors: Show/Fair rules apply. Please refer to the website for more information on rules and regs regarding the sale of live animals. There will be a testing clinic at GHF the weekend before which is free to Maryland residents. Vendors will be charged a $10 fee to setup. This fee helps to go toward advertising/porto potties/childrens activities and other expenses.

Here's the link to our flyer. http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/msbear33/mpswap2012.jpg
Give us a hand by posting it in your local feed store. It looks fantastic on photo paper but can still be printed as a "fast draft" to conserve ink.

on it.

Paul Gilroy has replied that he'll judge the Show Clinic.

We're also going to do lots of fundraising for the MSPFA The Maryland State Poultry Fanciers Association is needing some funds to help go toward the Show in Frederick this fall and I though a fun way to help would be a Chinese raffle/auction of some sort. Maybe we can all donate some fun chicken related items or things that would sell like small kitchen appliances, antiques, maybe a quilt that Grammy can make, etc. ALL proceeds would go straight to the club. Put your thinking combs on

If we are still here we will be there.
I have some nice blrw hens for sale (Blue Poultry lines) These hens are 1.3 years old. Laying great. I sold 2 sets of quads so I have no roosters ,but if someone was looking for some nice hens to add for breeding I have some. (can see what I have at HTTP://SoaringHawksFarm.blogspot.com )
We are selling out of the blrws.
Glad to see you got a thread up and going!

I'll have to keep an eye on what's going to be there. We might be able to start our flock by that time. And it's not too far away from us!

Hey Erin,
I will have Buff Brahmas (pullets)
Auburn Java chicks

I won't be able to do more than swing by that morning and say hello to my buddies. As Erin knows, this is the same Saturday that Heart Strings Animal Rehoming and Rescue has their annual picnic. I didn't want to miss out on Erin's first swap, so I missed the reunion picnic. I am going to go every other year if Erin keeps the third Saturday in June as her swap date. I bust my buns every year trying to rescue, save, rehabilitate, foster, transport, rehome dogs in need. The picnic is like reward day for all of our efforts. We invite all of the families we have adopted animals to to reunite with us one day a year to see the success stories.

Sorry Tammy. I have a difficult enough time remembering to feed my toddlers (not a joke) there is so much going on in my life right now. Life is nuts. I am glad you'll at least be able to stop in and say hi. Remind me next spring around March (when I begin advertising) and I'll move the date.

I wanted to show off some pics of the new chicken barn here at Msbearland. It's to accommodate the cochin craziness I got going on here... meanwhile, I have chicks coming out of my ears and birds crammed together. Life has been crazy and I hope we'll be able to finish before the swap. I've got super garden plowed into rows and nothing in it.. We're still building coops for customers and I picked up some side work designing websites for a few small companies and maintaining them as well as two other non-profit websites on my "spare time." I'm also doing farmers markets in VA for a friend of mine who sells goat cheese every Saturday. Head is spinning....I guess I'll go sling out some PB&J's and get back to work ahhaahahahah

Looking good Erin!

Can't wait to see it. It has been crazy here too.
Seem like just when you think your getting ahead and a brake is so close you can taste it,then BAM something else happens and we take a few steps back.
I may take a year off next year and just do a few shows and really work o. The breeds we are keeping for sure.
I had to stop egg orders as all the slw are broody( we were only selling cockerels anyway) 2 blrw's are broody and a turkey hen do to hatch any day and last but not least is one of my jg's is broody. I gave up and gave her eggs to set . I got out numbered by broodies.
Sad thing is the one breed I want to go broody so they will hatch eggs are my call ducks.
Hope the chocolate girls do they have a well defined nest so I moved eggs from all of them in there hope it makes one set!

( pending hatch) as my luck the ones I really want always hatch more cockerels then pullets!
They are do before your swap.
