Maryland Poultry Swap and Farmers Market JUNE 16th 2012 SHARPSBURG, MD 8-2pm **SHOW CLINIC**

Anyone interested in this guy? He was hatched from an olive egg from.... someone on BYC.. can't remember who. I have used him all year in my olive egger project and have a new roo to introduce to my flock. This one is a great guy. He's sooooooooo gentle and sweet with the ladies... and is gentle with chicks and turkeys and free ranges with everyone. Free to good home.

I know. We discussed this already on a previous page. I have a choice of two Saturdays this fall as our hay will be cut for an event on the 15th and 16th of Sept. The latter weekend was not an option for a few of the breeders who always do my swap and I don't want to push it later as the grass will grow by then and I don't want to get stuck in colder temps anyway... so, unfortunately, the only possible date is the 8th. I am sorry if there is another swap. Maybe folks can hit both that day. Last year it was the freedom run and the Sheep and Wool festival among other things. There is always something else going on and I can't keep up with it all. I just hope it will be a nice day for both events.

The latter weekend is also the same weekend of the big Troy swap in OH. They advertise in the Poultry Press as well and pull a large crowd from the show circuit too.

I will post this on the Facebook page... that we will be recycling plastic woven feed sacks for crafts. dmccann, Bring a big can and post a sign on it for a "drop off" spot.

Is there a place to sign up to be a vendor? I'll have some young birds to sell. And how old must the birds be for testing? These guys will only be 1.5 months old.

Hi Madamwlf, I am sorry for just now seeing this. No registration is necessary. The birds should be 3 months old to be able to test but, I'd rather test the breeders if you have older stuff. Bring 10% of your adult laying flock to the testing clinic and all juvenile birds will be covered under their results. If you have 30 chickens, you only need to bring 3 adult birds. Try and select birds from different pens if you have them penned up separately. Thanks
