Well, I pulled out all of my clears, and blood rings...and have 5 little butterscotch hanging in there.  I also have 6 bantam eggs in there that are due the 5th.  I'm going to have to put another batch in the bator and fill it back up....hate seeing empty space going to waste! idunno.gif  Having only 11 eggs in a bator with much more capacity is just, well, it's just wrong!

I keep shifting eggs around every time I toss clears and blood rings. Two incubators, half full. I need a hatcher so I can go wild with staggered hatches.

I have a question that may be available somewhere but this looks like as good a place as any to ask. I've read some ducks can't rear their own young. Is this particular breeds or am I missing something? My babies are only 2 weeks old now but when they're adults next year and beyond I would like to see them have their own ducklings without much help from me. Is it just to keep them laying when the eggs are incubated or is there some other reason behind it like getting the hatchlings used to people, weather extremes, etc? I live in Georgia so weather usually isn't an issue this time of year. Mine are usually outside in their pool by 9-10 AM every morning and in the laundry room in their guinea pig cage by dark.
