I had one pip around 2am...at the wrong end of the egg... She really hasn't made any progress since then, and no other pips yet. I hope she hatches before I have to go to work tonight!! fl.gif

I know this is gross, but if it would guarantee a great hatch, I'd totally do it.

Hatch Cam LIVE. Hatching 19 misc. mixed breeds http://www.ustream.tv/channel/wendywr1 Possibility of pure FBCM and GL Polish, but most likely a fun assortment of exotic mixes.

I have 25ish chickens, including legbars, coronation sussex, FBCM, polish, ameraucanas, EE and OE

I feel really lucky that my brinsea mini advance is so steady and easy. It really is like a crock pot. I just set the eggs in, and forget it. I have to add water every 3 days or so, and then take out the turning tray and put in shelf rubber for lockdown, but otherwise, it does all the work. Your experience sounds like such a nightmare, DirtCreature.

I checked on my school eggs when I went to pick up my son from preschool. Nothing yet. I'll be going in first thing in the morning to check again.

We're up to 10 chicks now, 5 black and 5 blue (4 from my sussex eggs, 3 from my hatchery EE, and 3 from my Ameraucana pullet).  I've moved 7 of them into the brooder, but the other 3 were still a bit damp.  I have one more new egg that's pipped.  The first egg to pip hasn't really made any progress.  The hole in the shell is a little bigger, and I'm still seeing beak movement through the hole, so I'm not too worried yet.  But it does seem to be pipped at the wrong end of the egg, so that worries me a bit.  And the one that was mostly zipped before I left for work this morning is still working on completing the zip I think.  It's still breathing, but it looks a little funny because the bits of fluff that have been poking through the shell since this morning are all dried.  I'm a little worried about that one too, although it doesn't seem to be in distress yet so I'm just going to leave it alone and hope that it makes progress on it's own.  I figure since they weren't due to hatch until tomorrow it's a bit too soon to get too worried about the ones that are concerning me.
