Rocking and rolling is good- it means they're moving into hatching position.

I wonder how my eggs are doing. I wonder if there's chicks. I bet there is by now.

Well, I'm getting in on this at the end.  Tuesday was lockdown and before I could even get the humidity up, there were two peeping up a storm.  Got the humidity up to 67% and holding.  This is the earliest I have ever had action.  I hope I can maintain the humidity.  I usually have it all regulated and no worries but this has really knocked me for a loop.

Ok here are some pics of the new Maran chicks. It's the best that I could do with them still in the incubator. Sorry about the poor pic quality. As best as I could count, it seems like 10 out of 24 have hatched. I hope more will have hatched when I get home from work.

Question...........So I guess I have to take the newly hatched chicks out today (Day 2) and put them in the brooder. I was never able to have a successful candle, so can I assume the other eggs are bad and should I throw them away or let them incubate another day or 2 more? Will the opening of the incubator when I take out the new chicks affect the eggs that haven't hatched yet. What do you all suggest that I do?

congrats on your babies........thumbsup.gif...........i would let them eggs for another day or two, just to be on the safe side.........about the chicks everyone has their different opinions.......what i do  and Again!!! WHAT I DO.......not talking about anyone.....i let the chicks to dry up and then quickly move them to the brooder.......some folk say let them there until all eggs hatch but they will be rolling over the eggs as they walk around the bator......then again ....it's my opinion..........idunno.gif......congrats
