When it stops turning, you take the wheel looking thing out, fill both wells with water and then wait for birds to come out. It is amazing.

OMG KuntryGirl, NOTHING?!

RGV, maybe she won't mind because you're just REPLACING duds....

I know not to fret yet, but I don't know how long that chick had been pipped, which is maddening. I know it hadn't pipped at 3:25 yesterday, but WAS pipped at 8am this morning. This is a picture I took of it at 3:20 today. I'm hoping it's out by morning. If it's not, I'll peel it out anyway- I promised to reset the incubator tomorrow with eggs for my daughter's first grade. I have 80 or so kids really excited to start incubating.

Yeah, they are kind of spendy at $130.

If I was to do it again, I think I would get the Octo20 (or whatever it's called) because it can hatch significantly more, but not enough to get me in serious trouble.

If you get them off the brinsea site you can use a 10% promo code, OR i HEARD you can call brinsea directly, and talk to them and get re-manufactured ones/floor models (used by them at fairs once) for cheaper but they still work just fine....

I found this thread and read through it. I think it would be helpful for you and its not a very long read....

Thanks! I have done exactly what has been suggested and left it alone. The temp came back up and have maintained humidity by adding warm water through a vent hole.

I finally go into lockdown today! I have 5 good eggs out of my original 9, I even saw one wiggling inside when checking them for lockdown. I can't wait to see what colors hatch, it's a surprise!

Well, it looks like my hatch may be about done (actually, I think its completely done).  I ended up successfully hatching 24 out of 33 eggs. That's right @ 75% - Very pleased with that. My results include a bunch of comets, and few BO-EE crosses, a few BR-EE crosses, 2 gamebirds, and a few asstd yardbirds.ya.gif  Enjoyed the hatch-along thread.  Good luck to those who still have hatching left to go!frow.gif

Sorry that I didn't post last night but there is always some kind of drama at my place. I had an unexpected goose to hatch and it took me forever to get everything situated with hiim.

Anyway, when I got home after work it was raining Marans in the incubator. wee.gif There were a total of 12 that had hatched and another was zipping out of there. I took the 12 chicks out and used a spray bottle to mist the other eggs. It took me about 45 seconds total. I was so afraid that I may have messed up the temps and humidity, so I just crossed my fingers.

I woke up this morning and another one had hatched even after opening up the incubator and taking out the other babies last night. I'm keep my fingers crossed that more hatch. fl.gif

Here are some pics. Can you pick out the "odd ball" in the bunch? gig.gif I forgot my digital camera at work, so I had to take pics using my camera phone. Not good quality though.
