Will the government take away your chickens?

I harvest timber, do land clearing for developments and buy timber sales.

What kind of lumber do you sell anyways, chickened? A sheet of OSB is like 6 bucks. I'm in no way trying to be smug, we all need our people to bring us raw materials. I am sincerely curious what it is exactly that you do.

OSB is about $10 for the 7/16 here. Can you mail me some of that $6 stuff ?

RHRanch makes a very pertinent point. Children lacking sufficient healthy food for growth, through poverty, and also free access to health care, can be permanently damaged. At the very least they may never reach their optimum size, or enjoy good health. This may mean that they never achieve their full potential as adults. The cumulative results of this is that the workforce is less productive.

You don't have to be a genius to see that if you are to succeed as a country, you plough money into infant welfare and the nurture, health care and education of the young. It is the business of all of us to contribute unstintingly to the welfare of all our children, not just the ones born to us. It is ridiculously short sighted of people to condemn poorer people for wanting a family. It is as well to remember that any of us could end up in a care home in our later years, and we could end up being cared for by the very children we said should not have existed.

You do not have to be a genius to know you can lead a horse to water but cannot make them drink (irresponsible parents siring children with no means to care for them.). Which are the ones who actually abuse the program by the way. Multiple children from multiple donors is not a family. I think removing the children to a stable home serves a better purpose for the kids and may well break the welfare cycle. Of course some will say that is cruel. In fact I know of children that were removed to foster homes and made something of themselves where siblings left in the abusive homes followed suit of the parents.

This also happens when they create generational welfare dependance lifestyles.

I agree we should help the poor just not through the government by redistibution.

The Dimona Radar Facility is an American-operated radar base in the Negev, staffed by 120 US military personnel.

As to Iraq do you think we should take their oil because we earned it ? Contrary to what a lot of people think we did not go there to get oil. We went to protect our friends that have oil. Saddam needed to go he wanted everyone to think he was getting WMD's and payed the price.
No, I do not think we should take their oil, but the fact that those Russian, French, Korean and Chinese companies are now picking the bones of the country after all the blood and treasure we put into it irks me.

When you say they are picking the bones do you mean they're stealing the countries resources ? Do you mean it should only be American companies able to do business there ?
I think Iran and Afghanistan should be able to do business with whoever they want to and will give them the best deal. If they manage their resources properly then they will be much stronger and stable countries and that would be a win for all.
