Then why have homeland security if it is close to impossible to stop them?

Thats why it makes no sense bankrupting the country, sending the military all over the world to find those few people somewhere in the world.

Seems to me that the money would be much better spent upgrading NORAD to where they can track the sky better, take control of hijacked planes if needed an shoot down inbound nukes if needed. With that an a secure boarder we would be way safer than any war on terror will ever get us...

Norad already does that. But finding one or two planes that maybe hijacked when there are 100's of planes is not that easy if not impossible to do in time.

I was kidding, every map I see of Africa has a new name to a country and borders about every ten years or so.

So you don't think giving NORAD more money, men an equipment would not have been better than hiring 60,000+ people to feel up everyone.

 

You could have someone personally tracking an listening to live audio from the cockpit of every single plane over the US with a fraction of that many people an cost.
