My buff orpington named Lucy was killed by my dog today...my dad found her and freaked out! Ive only seen him cry twice...now three times! She was my favorite hen and our flock gardian! I will miss her sooo much yet now i am being lulled to sleep by 4 peeping chicks. (One of each) Russian Orloff, Buff Orpinton, Brahma, and a Speckled Sussex! I love my new baby but i will always have a place in my heart for my Lucy girl! She was going to be 1 year old in May...still a baby to me:°(

So sorry! I know how it feels to loose one of your favorite birds.... :(

I've got 2 cats, Dyllen and Star. I have 17 chickens; 3 BLRW, 3 mutts, 2 EEs, 2 White Rock roosters, 1 RIR, 1 White Leghorn, 1 Red Star, 1 Golden Campine, 1 unknown hen, 1 Partridge cochin, and 1 Golden Polish. I also have 1 Swedish/Black Indian Runner laying on 8 eggs.

i know how you feel I lost my polish girl Chewie to our dog but i've got several baby polish in my brooder so i'm happy

Thank you Sumi!! I am feeling a little better now! But my dog threw up and my brother pointed out that there was chicken bones in it!! I blew a gasket and freaked out! I was in complete and literal panic! I was telling myself she was safe and she wouldn't be hurt anymore and she was playing and eating millworms and happy in chicken heaven!! <3 Thanks for the simpathy!!
