(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I'm fairly new! I got my first chicken about two months ago, when I rescued her from school.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Six. I had seven, but when I got six chicks after my first, one of them didn't make it.
(3) What breeds do you have?
My first one, Darcy, is some kind of chicken meant to be raised for meat. I'm not specifically sure what breed. The little ones are bantams.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Google!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Mainly writing and participating with ministries and youth groups. I also have so many pet rats now, that it's starting to become a hobby!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
About me: My name is Blaze, I'm sixteen, and I live in Georgia. I'm a Christian and a writer. And I love animals!
My family: I currently live with my mother.
My other pets: two dogs, two cats, two rabbits, two fish, and seven rats, alongside my six beautiful chickens!
My occupation: Writer! I'm going to college in a few years to study mental health therapy, and I hope to someday form a ministry for young people struggling with mental illnesses.
Anything else: This seems like such a wonderful community, and I'm excited to finally be a part of it! I hope to make lots of friends!
